Current Updates and Information... March 30, 2020
All church activities will be cancelled until April 27, at which time the situation will be reassessed.
Though very difficult, we have decided to suspend corporate worship through April. We know that God is in control of this situation as He is with all situations. He is working out the current circumstances for the good of those who love Him, and it may be His will that this pandemic draws His people to Him so that they will depend on Him completely!
In regards to worship, we would remind you of Hebrews 12:1,2. We are told of the cloud of witnesses that surrounds us and we are encouraged to run the race before us with endurance. We are instructed to look to Jesus who ran His race with endurance and sits at the right hand of God the Father. Whether we worship together or at home with our families or all on our own, we are surrounded by that cloud of witnesses and know that our heavenly Father is being glorified by the body of Christ, the church universal, of all times and places. How sweet it will be when we resume corporate worship with our brothers and sisters!
In the meantime, we are considering/ pursuing remote means of worshiping God on Sunday from our own church. As we figure out these details, we will let everyone know. Pastors who would have been preaching at our church have been willing to provide daily devotionals during the week.
We are praying for all of you during this time and we request that you pray for us. Pray for our church and the search for a new pastor, pray for the members of our congregation that there might have good health and minimal anxiety, pray for those in our government that they might have wisdom and most of all, pray that the Lord might use what seems to us to be a calamity to draw His sheep to Him!
A list of online streaming services can be found here.
PLEASE let us know if you are in need of anything! The Council is available for any kind of service or to fill any need that you may have as are the rest of the members of our congregation.
If you desire you may mail tithes to Covenant URC, PO Box 9, Pantego NC 27860. While we may not be at church at this time, there are still financial needs that occur in just keeping the building operating. In addition, there was a special offering for the Youth Group in March and our April special collections are Benevolence and Carrie Rice (Mission to the World). Please prayerfully consider supporting these as well.
We have reconvened the Search Committee and are currently asking members to participate. Hopefully we will have a list of who is on the committee later this week. Council also passed a mandate for the committee and we hope that they can get to work soon!
Congratulations to Heather and Daniel McGowan! We rejoice with them as they were united in marriage!

Hymns are sung from the Trinity Psalter Hymnal
